Brief Description:
This course is aimed at anybody who wants to try their hand at making delicious vegetarian Indian food from scratch. Learners will acquire the skills and knowledge to make:

Week 1
Balti curry – an authentic Balti sauce with a mixture of garlic, onions, garam masala and turmeric. The sauce will then be used to make a Balti curry with a restaurant style taste.

Week 2
Naan bread - a homemade fluffy Naan bread.
Saffron rice - this simple rice infused with saffron is the perfect elegant side dish that pairs well with any curry (especially Balti curry).

You will learn how combining spices and herbs can produce great tasting food using simple everyday ingredients.

Suitable for all levels, no cooking experience required.

Course Aims:
• Learn how to cook a Balti curry and accompaniments from scratch
• Develop culinary skills and knowledge
• Build confidence in the kitchen

Extra Costs:
Learners are required to bring their own ingredients. Most ingredients will be available from local supermarkets. Tutor is also willing to bring in certain spices / flours and charge learners per teaspoon / cup used. Advance notice required.

Biryani – a very popular one pot dish, full of fantastic flavours, with layers of basmati rice and vegetables which is oven baked.
Raita - a delicious and refreshing cucumber and onion yoghurt dip.

Week 2
Potato Stuffed Parathas – a tasty Indian bread stuffed with potatoes and spices.
Tomato, Mango and Kenyan Chilies Relish – perfect for dipping the parathas in.

You will learn how combining spices and herbs can produce great tasting food using simple everyday ingredients.

Brief Description:
This course will help improve your everyday English skills in manageable steps while building your confidence along the way. The focus will be on using your English skills – reading, writing and communication - in practical situations.

For example, helping with your child’s reading and homework, or reading and understanding letters, bills, emails, writing emails and using social media confidently, then this is the course for you. The level of English will be adapted to suit the needs of course attendees and not exceed KS4 level.

Course Aims:
• Build up skills and confidence in reading, writing, spelling and communication.
• Be able to apply skills in practical situations which are applicable to daily life
• Share strategies to support learning and developing English skills.

This course is aimed at anybody who wants to try their hand at making delicious Indian vegetarian food from scratch. Learners will acquire the skills and knowledge to make:

Week 1
Jalfrezi curry – a homemade hot thick jalfrezi sauce with green chillies, peppers, onion and tomatoes
Cardomom rice – a delicious fragrant rice

Week 2
Garlic & Coriander Paratha – light fluffy Indian bread, perfect to go with any curry.
Sweet Potato & Green Bean Curry – in a creamy coconut sauce, serve with any rice or paratha

Brief Description:
This course is aimed at anybody who wants to try their hand at making delicious vegetarian Indian food from scratch. Learners will acquire the skills and knowledge to make:

Week 1
Korma curry – a mild curry made from various spices, coconut and nuts with cauliflower and mixed vegetables .
Plain rice - the rich flavours of the Korma will go well with plain rice.

Week 2
Mixed Vegetable Pakoras – made with chickpea flour, spices and vegetables (deep fried).
Tomato Dip – made with fresh tomatos, garlic, green chilies and a cumin/coriander mixture called dhana jiru.
