WITCHFORD SHOW GRIT & RESILIENCE AGAINST ELY IN FOOTBALL MATCHES

On Wednesday 11th March, the Year 8 & Year 10 Boys & Girls team took on Ely College in the last matches of the Isle of Ely football season.

The Year 8 boys did excellent in getting a team of 14 together, as at the start of the day, we were down to 5. In good spirits, they came against a very good Ely side, who ran out winners.

The Year 8 girls maintained their good run of form by putting in a good display in a closely contested match, with Witchford Village College coming out on top.

The Year 10 boys narrowly lost to a strong Ely side. Though Witchford put in an dominant display, two counter attacking goal and some excellent defending by Ely meant Witchford came out second best on this occasion.

The Year 10 girls ensured they finished their football season on a high, by beating Ely in what was a very good spirited game. Both teams showed fantastic sportsmanship and all played with smiles on their faces.

Thank you to Ely for hosting the fixtures!
