Retired School Improvement Adviser, most recently for Cambridgeshire County Council 2011-2018. Formerly Inspector for Inclusion and Equalities, London Borough of Barnet, 2005-2011 and worked in schools in several other London Boroughs from 1985.

Hobbies and interests

Gardening; DIY; diving; travelling; languages, playing guitar (badly). I taught overseas for five years in Sierra Leone and Laos (with VSO) and am interested in international politics and history.

I was a primary school improvement adviser in the East Cambs. & Fenland area team for seven years. I live in Downham Market.

Why did you become a governor?

I believe very strongly in the principles of school governance and the participation in school improvement by stakeholders. I have a lifelong interest in all things educational and am very passionate about all students having the right to a good education and achieving their true potential as learners and citizens.
