A group of Year 7 students took part in an Antarctic Workshop. We welcomed three scientists, two of whom were able to share their first hand experiences of life in Antarctica. They talked extensively about whaling through the years and what was happening to the environment and the steps that will be necessary to make the world sustainable. The students carried out some drama work, re-enacting what their ideas of life in the harsh conditions of the Antarctic were, as well as creative writing tasks. Students were asked to think about careers in this environment and also the wider picture of careers in Science.
